quick facts about me
I fully believe my purpose in life is to create art behind the camera. It may sound "cheesy" but my passion is creating emotion in an image.
My vision is to make each wedding day authentic + for viewers to feel the emotions they see in each image. I want my families to be real at their sessions and I want their galleries to showcase the love they have for one another.
Emotion is my biggest purpose when creating art. I want YOU to feel something when you see a beautiful image. I create art with courage + I will always dream to create even more!
+ I love to be with my family doing simple activities
+ I stress too much about things that don't really matter
+ I love candy + brownies
+ I always chew gum
+ I have too many ideas in my head and never seem to have the guts to pursue them
+ I think my jokes are funny...no one else does
+ I am incredibly laid back, go with the flow type of person
+ I always apologize
+ I talk a lot...sometimes too much as my husband would say
+ I try to live the best way I know how
+ I love movies but I am not really much of a board gamer
+ I hope to teach my children to be fearless + trust GOD in all they do
My favorites are easy...
My FAMILY, my handsome boy + my 3 sweet girls, my incredibly handsome, loving husband!
Working out and sitting on my back deck listening to pure silence. Taking in life + being grateful for what I have been given.
My favorite style when photographing is the use of natural light. Creating images that are simple, but meaningful....capturing a couple or family just the way they are in real life.
My design is simple but shows character. I use props but nothing is overly put together. You can easily navigate around and get a feel for who I am. There are no hidden fees. What you see is what you get! My blog may display a ton of images, but I love to share the lives of my clients with all of you!
Do I have to choose just one?!
I can't...sorry! {Not Sorry}
I love a Vanilla Bean Frap with Carmel Flavoring from Starbucks, but I am not really a Starbucks snob..I don't even drink coffee! I do love a good vanilla coke once in a great while, but you will typically see me sipping on a water, sprite or if I have had a day...then bring me the Oliver! Soft Red, please...$7 at your local CVS!
I became a photographer to be able to create what I felt. I wanted to be able to photograph the lives of others the way I see it. I wanted to be able to express myself in a way that no one else could. Being a photographer is a place where I can let go, feel free to do as I please and not worry about being right or wrong. I have learned that to create art, you have to truly let yourself be who you really are in all aspects of life. Being a photographer allows me to do that!
This is hard for me...if you know me, I am not good at making decisions. I really love the end of summer going into fall. I love the warmth but I also love when the leaves start to turn. Fall can sometimes get a bit too chilly/rainy for me, so I would stick with the summer sun + have the changing leaves too. Is that a season? We could make it one!
I would love to travel more, see the world! Photograph incredible places and do sessions in the dessert + at the beach. My travels have taken me to Florida, Arizona, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Jamaica and Aruba! Unless I have forgot one.....
With 4 kiddos now, it just gets harder to travel...but I wouldn't change that for the world! Someday, I hope to visit Utah, California, New York, Alaska and maybe some crazy island with turquoise water + a water bungalow just for me! But, for now....Indiana makes me happy!
Any amazing places I should look into for a family vacation?!?
I fully believe in connecting with other artists + creatives in the industry!
My studio space in Brownsburg is also used for connections with others to chat about the business, the industry and to also learn from one another. I love getting to know those around me and becoming more than just social media friends!
I firmly believe in continue to learn + grow in whatever you do. I have had the pleasure of learning from many people and doing the same for others is a goal of mine. I love teaching + watching someone else's dream come true. Reach out + let's connect! I hope to meet you soon!
